摘要
文章从19世纪末20世纪初美国政府实施的以同化为目的、以惟英语为手段的"印第安寄宿学校教育"谈起,引出对当前存在的语言衰亡现象的思考:为了全球语言文化生态环境的平衡,在语言教育中应提高警惕,积极维护人类语言的多样化。
The government of the United States applied the system of boarding schools for American Indians at the beginning of 1920s with the purpose of assimilation by English education.This triggered the concern upon the language death phenomenon.Considering the balance of global language and culture ecology,we should notice the danger in language education to protect linguistic diversity.
