霍去病墓石雕作品意象博大深沉,极具大自然的山野情调,特别在表现动物的造型上,更是各具其貌,惟妙惟肖,皆蕴含着饱满的生机,质朴而有灵趣,有着强烈的艺术感染力。1981年10月,朱穆之参观霍墓石雕曾留言道:"国之瑰宝"。的确,霍去病墓石刻是中国石雕艺术的一大飞跃,是我们民族文化的骄傲,它在中国雕塑史上占有无可争辩的地位。虽时过境迁,其强烈的艺术感染力仍使得"现代文明"中的人们对其保持着浓厚的兴趣,热衷回顾。

The image of the stone works to Huo Qubing＇s grave is not only extensive and profound,but also full of unartificial natural flavor.Being lively,animated,unadorned and interesting,the diversiform sculpts of animals have strong appeal artistically.In October 1981,when he visited the grave,Zhu Muzhi inscribed on it： ＂Treasure of the Country＂.Indeed,as a great breakthrough,the stone works of Huo＇s grave are a pride of our national culture,and is indisputable in the history of Chinese sculpture art.Although the vicissitudes of the times,it is still strongly attracting the people in ＂the modern civilization＂.
