试析英汉习语翻译的三种对应关系

On the Three Corresponding Relationships Between English-Chinese Idioms Translation

英汉习语丰富多彩,各具鲜明的文化特征,历来是最难翻译的一个部分。英汉习语的三种对应关系,即对应、半对应和不对应关系,在翻译英汉习语时必须充分考虑它们之间存在的文化差异和表述特点,在英汉习语翻译时才能达意,进而传神。

This paper focuses on the analysis of the three corresponding relationships between the English-Chinese idioms,that is,corresponding relationship,partial-corresponding relationship and non-corresponding relationship.It points out that cultural differences should be taken into full account in the translation of idioms,and that it is the key to really understand the cultural meanings of the English-Chinese idioms.
