Impacts of India-style Democracy on Economic Reform and Benefit Distribution

长期以来,印度以其民主体制为骄傲,但独立以来的缓慢发展,又招致外界对其民主体制在经济发展中作用的质疑。本文回顾了印度民主体制的建立,分析其特点及其对经济改革和成果分享的影响。单就促进经济改革(进而促进经济增长)来看,印度民主体制不是最有效的,但民主体制保证了印度国家的统一和经济的平稳发展,且有助于促进民众对经济发展成果的分享。此外,经济改革也推动民主体制不断进行变革。

This paper analyzes the effects of Indian democracy on the national economic reforms and benefit distribution.According to the author,while the India-style democracy is not the most efficient in promoting economic reform,it helps guarantee stable economic development and enable more people to share the economic benefits.Also Indian economic reform has stimulated the upgradation of its democratic system.
