From the First Century BC to the fourth Century AD,the Urbanization was very rapid in Roman Gaul.As ＂the Giant in the West＂ Gaul had taken the leadership in the movement of Roman Empire urbanization in a sense.The dissertation discusses some elements on the development of cities in Roman Gaul.Thus emperors＇ attention for urbanization of Roman Gaul,provincial elites＇ cooperation with Empire,building of Roman cities,economical influence in Gaul.It is very helpful to understand deeply the nature of urbanization in Roman Empire.
