The Discourse of Culture in the "Economic Age": Probing into the Origin of Marxist Cultural Thought

马克思的文化思想具有两个重要特征:一是他对文化问题的思考与表述具有鲜明的时代特色与现实针对性;二是他的文化思想以唯物史观为理论基石和内在线索,与唯物史观的发展历程相伴随。因此,对马克思文化思想的理解与阐释,一方面必须结合其历史语境,准确把握马克思所处的"经济时代"在技术与生产力状况、社会矛盾与阶级关系状况、思想领域斗争状况等方面的特殊性;另一方面必须将其放置于唯物史观这一理论框架之中,结合马克思思想发展脉络来加以解读。

The cultural thoughts of Marxism have two major characteristics： Firstly, the thought on arid expressions of the issue of culture carries a distinctive feature of the age and pertinence to reality; Secondly, Marx＇s thought of culture is built on the theoretical corner stone of materialist view of history as the inner guidance with the adjoint development of materialistic view of history. Therefore, the understanding and interpretation of Marxist thought of culture, must, in the first place,be combined with its historical context so as to correctly grasp the peculiar features of the various aspects such as the state of technology and productive power, the state of social contradictions and class relations, the state of ideological conflicts of Marx＇s ＂economic age. ＂Then, there is a need to place Marxism in the theoretical framework of the materialistic view of history with the combination of the thought development of Marx so as to achieve appropriate interpretation.
