Chief Seattle＇s Manifesto,as the most successful,widely accepted and influential masterpiece in Indian eco-literature,has become an eternal revelation which guides people to deal with the relationship between human and nature.This paper analyzes its ecological holism,its ethics of reverence for life and its spirit of deep ecology.Through analyzing its mainstream ecological thoughts from different perspectives,this paper aims at appreciating its inspiration to us as well as exploring its far-reaching impact on the modern world.
