Key Technologies of Radar for Foreign Objects Debris(FOD) Detection on Runways

摘要 机场道面的异物(FOD)监测是保障民航飞机安全的重要措施之一,毫米波调频连续波(FM-CW)雷达可全天候、全天时自动监测机场跑道的异物,是近几年出现的新兴技术。介绍了FOD监测系统的国内外现状和美国联邦航空局(FAA)最新发布的FOD监测设备标准,分析了FOD监测雷达组成和原理,在此基础上,讨论了FOD监测雷达天线、微波射频组件、信号处理和数据处理中的关键技术。 Foreign Objects Debris(FOD) detection is very important to civil aviation safety. Millimeter-wave FM- CW(Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar is an emerging technology in recent years to automatically mon- itor FOD under all time and all weather conditions. In this paper, current status of FOD systems in developed countries and the latest standard by FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) for FOD equipment are introduced. The composition and principle of FOD detection radar are analysed. The key technology of antenna, microwave RF (Radio Frequency) components,signal processing and data processing in FOD detection radar is discussed.
