The characteristics and research status of bioenrichment of trace elements by algae are introduced, and mechanisms of algae's bioenrichment are discussed in detail. The bioenrichment of healthful trace elements is more efficient than that of toxic ones. The main kinetics for bioenrichment of trace elements by algae is biosorption and active transportation, but only the trace elements bioenriched through active transportation are more active ones in biology.
