摘要
焦菊隐的翻译思想长期以来被中国翻译理论界所忽视,对其直译观作了尝试性的梳理和阐释。焦菊隐的直译观是辩证的,并不排除意译的翻译方法。他所认为的理想的翻译应是直译和意译的结合,只是把论述的重点放在什么是真正的直译而已,为的是消除人们对直译的误解或困惑。
Jiao Juyin＇s translation theory has been ignored for long in China. This paper attempts to probe into his view on literal translation.It finds that Jiao＇s view on literal translation is dialectical, and free translation is not excluded. Jiao holds that a good translation results from the combination of literal translation and free translation. He focuses on literal translation in order to clear up people＇s misunderstanding or confusion of literal translation.
