This article provides a DOS operating system and uses the C language to achieve one image file display method based on BMP.Using VESA video standards,it can read and write the image file based on BMP image file structure.All procedures is compiled and run successfully under Borland C＋ ＋ 3.1 environment.The several display modes of VESA standard are achieved.Results are displayed and saved clearly.And color images are true.It has been applied in a video display of one intelligent instrument.
