Language Contrast Studies Based on Radical Construction Grammar——A New Perspective for Chinese-English Contrast Studies

现代语法理论缺少描述人类语言多样性的统一理论框架和模式。以往基于现代语法理论的语言对比研究存在不足,William Croft为解释人类语言多样性提出的激进构式语法理论为语言对比研究提供了一种可行的理论框架模式。基于激进构式语法进行语言对比研究的优越性包括:模式统一简单,有利于拓展语言对比研究的广度和提高语言对比研究的深度,有利于进行科学合理的语言对比研究;激进构式语法应用于语言对比研究在理论和应用层面有其独有的优势和广阔的前景。

The modern grammatical theories lack a unified theoretical frame work and pattern in describing the diversity of human languages. The language contrast studies based on modern grammatical theories were insufficient. To solve the problem, William Croft proposed the Radical Construction Grammar to explain the diversity of human languages, thus offering a feasible theoretical frame work and pattern for language contrast studies. The advantages of applying Radical Construction Grammar to language contrast studies are discussed as being a simple and unified pattern to conduct scientific and reasonable language contrast studies substantially and extensively. Applying Radical Construction Grammar to language contrast studies has its own unique advantages and great potential in both theory and in practice.
