On Liang Yingyang's Annotations on Du Shu Tang Ji

《读书堂集》梁应扬笺注呈现注重文章作法的笺注特色,它对简朝亮《读书堂集》的地理沿革、历史背景、作品对象、文章文意等方面均有涉及,且注重搜集简氏作品的各家评点,具有一定的文献价值。但是梁氏笺注的过于简略以至遗漏现象,以及述多评少的不足,又严重削弱了其应有的价值。

Liang Yingyang took great pains in presenting the methods of composition in his Annotations on Du Shu Tang Ji by Jian Chaoliang.He dealt with geographical evolution,historical background,the objects of study,and the implied meanings of the articles in the book by Jian,and also collected various commentaries by other scholars.The book by Liang has a certain documentary value.But as Liang's commentaries are often too brief and his narrations prevailed over commentaries,and as a result,the academic value of the book by Liang was severely reduced.
