A Study of Cross Reference in Chinese Dictionaries

在语文词典里,互见法作为一种辞书体例,可以用来处理字义、字形、字音和相关的复音词。互见法有明互见、暗互见,远互见、近互见,单项互见、双向互见之分。它用术语来提示,可以体现事物之间的联系,缩小词典的篇幅,提高词典的效能。这一体例亦适用于其他文献。

In language dictionaries,cross reference as a dictionary-compilation method can be used to process the meaning of words,font styles,pronunciations and related polysyllabic words.Cross reference can be divided into obvious reference,obscure reference,distant reference,near reference,individual reference and two-way reference.Cross reference can be suggested by special terms,can indicate the relationship between things,reduce the space of dictionaries,and improve their effectiveness.This method can also be applied to other types of literature.
