This paper briefs the extension of power supply system to meet the requirement of 120 000 t zinc smelting capacity increase for northwest lead and zinc smelter.It outlines technical measurement to take for the extension,which will solve obstacles in the project and avoid unnecessary over-investment.The solution proposed by this paper has type selection on equipment with consideration of advance technology,energy saving,and minimum operation and maintenance cost.The whole solution will save a large amount of investment.
