As many cities are constantly expanding around the world,the environmental effect and the revegetation of landfill have become very urgent and outstanding problems.The concept of sanitary landfill and methods of refuse filling and its environmental problems were briefly reviewed.The major factors affecting the growth of plants on the landfill and the measures and steps which researchers recommended during the practical revegetation were discussed in detail.
