威廉斯的诗歌创作充满着哲学思考,从初期诗歌创作中对形而上学真理的质疑及拒斥,到"在通向语言的途中","没有思想,除非在物中"的"物"的自行言说及思想的显现,威廉斯充满哲理性的思考贯穿其创作的始终。他的"没有思想,除非在物中"与海德格尔等现代哲人的思想有着契合之处。

William Carlos Williams＇s poetry is well-known for the plainness and the lack of philosophical thoughts.Taking the textual scrutiny as the main research approach,this paper aims to explore the philosophical journey of Williams＇s poetry writing.It suggests that since the earlier period,Williams has truly experienced the questioning and denying of the metaphysics,and in the end,by means of language,he has found the self-speaking of ＂things＂ and self-emerging of ＂idea＂.Hence,it is certain that the philosophical thinking runs through his whole writing career,and to some extent,such sort of thinking coincidentally corresponds with that of some modern philosophers such as Martin Heidegger.
