中美贸易失衡原因探析

美国国内再次掀起的要求人民币升值的浪潮,指责中国政府通过操纵人民币汇率获得不公平竞争优势,加剧了中美贸易失衡,损害了美国经济。这只是美国追求自身利益的单方面的看法。其实,人民币升值无助于改善美国的国际收支,也无助于降低美国的失业率。中美贸易失衡的根本原因是全球产业转移和中美两国储蓄率的差异。人民币汇率并不是中美贸易失衡的根本原因,也不是医治美国经济的灵丹妙药。

The United States triggered a new pressure wave on RMB appreciation and voiced criticism that Chinese government wanted to manipulate exchange rate to gain unfair competitive advantage in international trade.Such unjustified criticisms did nothing but deteriorate the imbalance of Sino-US trade and do harm to the American economy.As a matter of fact,the RMB appreciation will neither resolve the American balance of payments nor reduce the rate of unemployment in America.The fundamental matter of Sino-US trade imbalance lies in the international division of economy and the Sino-US difference of saving rate.The RMB exchange rate is not responsible for the Sino-US trade deficit,and RMB appreciation is not a remedy for the American economy.
