《妇女杂志》在宣传妇女解放的进步思想的同时,成为推进我国女装由传统向现代变革的思想阵地。《妇女杂志》向读者宣传服装裁剪缝纫技能的重要性,并通过上升到科学化的服装制图原理,实现了服装裁剪技术在大众中的传播。杂志还组织开展女装款式改良的讨论、刊载美术家的服装设计作品,其中对西方服饰美的科学理论的推介,对服装设计所应遵循的原则的强调,表现出现代意义上的服装设计活动已经开始影响女性的衣生活。

While The Ladies＇ Journal propagating the revolutionary thoughts on the emancipation of women, it has been becoming the ideological front of women＇s clothing transition from tradition to modem. The Ladies＇ Journal disseminated the importance of garment tailoring technique among the readers, realizing the prevalence of this skill among the masses through drafting principle by upgrading it to the theoretical level. The magazine organized discussions on the amelioration of women costumes＇ style and published the fashion designs of the artists.
