摘要
本文以认知语言学和关联理论在转喻研究上的互补性为理论框架,分析转喻词语理解所涉及的认知和语用因素,提出言语交际中转喻词语理解的认知语用分析模式,探讨转喻词语理解的认知语用机理。转喻理解的关键是确立喻体和本体概念之间的联系,但概念之间的联系不是固定不变的,而是在一定的语境条件下动态生成的。听话人在关联原则的制约下选择和构建语境假设,确定转喻关系,进而获取转喻词语的转指信息及其认知效果。
This paper argues for the joint work of relevance theory and cognitive linguistics for the study of metonymy,and aims to formulate a cognitive pragmatic explanation of novel metonymic uses of words in verbal communication.Metonymic relations are not rigid and pre-stored in mind to influence metonymy interpretation but constructed on line in context.Consistent with the principle of relevance,metonymic expressions can be interpreted as the reference point and the specific context,which function as contextual assumptions to construct an ad hoc concept and derive extra cognitive effects.
