A Study on the Standards of Information Literacy of Chinese and American College Students

信息素养是个体能认识到何时需要信息、有效地搜索、评估和使用所需信息的能力。美国ACRL颁布的《美国高等教育信息素养评价》和中国清华大学颁布的《北京地区高校信息素质能力指标体系》为评估大学生的信息素养提供了理论框架,设立了教育标准。

Information literacy is a kind of ability that requires a person to recognize when he needs to use information and to have the ability to locate,evaluate and use effectively the needed information.The promulgations of the Evaluation of Information Literacy in American Higher Education and Indicator System of Information Literacy in Higher Education of Beijing area provide the theoretical frame for evaluating the ability of information literacy of college students and at the same time set up education criteria for cultivating their ability of information literacy.
