摘要
典籍外译是向世界介绍中国传统文化精髓的重要手段,而译才培养则是重中之重。《中国文化典籍英译》是王宏印教授新出版的一部翻译教材,既是全国翻译硕士专业学位(MTI)系列教材之一,同时也是我国第一部专门为硕士研究生编写的中国文化典籍英译教材。其体例编排颇具特色,内容选取涵盖中国文化的诸多领域,理论介绍与实践技巧均有涉及且分配合理,并且引入作者最新研究成果。本文将对该书的内容和特色作一评介,并对相关的典籍英译研究和译才培养的问题进行探讨。
Translation of Chinese classics is a main way to introduce Chinese culture to the world and priority should be given to the cultivation of translators for it.As one of the textbooks compiled for MTI,Professor Wang Hongyin's newly published book An Anthology of Chinese Masterpieces in English translation also comes out as the first textbook of English translation of Chinese classics for English masters.It is worthy of recommendation for its features in compiling,comprehensive contents,a good balance of theory and practice as well as the introduction of the author's own achievements of translation studies that are innovative and thought-provoking.This paper makes a brief introduction and comment on this book and discusses some concerning issues on the study of English translation of Chinese classics and the cultivation of translators.
