藏区地名的文化意义初探

A Preliminary Study on Cultural Significance of Geographic Names of Tibetan Areas

对藏区地名的形成或者命名的几种主要情况分别加以介绍,并诠释地名所蕴含的文化含义:一是描述地理位置、形状的地名;二是表明自然资源和地理实体的颜色等特征的地名;三是反映历史事件、军事活动等情况的地名;四是反映藏族的崇尚心理和宗教信仰的地名;五是以部族名、人名、动植物名等命名的地名。

This paper introduced the geographic names of Tibetan areas and interpreted their cultural significance through the following five aspects： the names describing the geographic location or the shape;the names indicating the natural resources and the color of the geographic entity;the names indicating the historic and military events;the names indicating national psychology and religious belief;and the names named by tribe names,individual names and animal or plant names.
