This paper stated the status and roles of forestry research institution in national economy under the circumstances of reformation of economic, scientific and technological systems, and furthr revealed the present questions existed in forestry research institution. Based on these, the principals, basic throught and measures of reformation were proposed to offer reference for decision -- makers.
