ZHU Xi's interpretation on the Hexagram Gen (52)was mainly embodied in three aspects. At first, he construed the hexagram statement that "keeping his back still" as "stopping at the place where he ought to stop", by which ZHU Xi demonstrated principle of moral conducts by the regulations required for man's body. Secondly, he proposed that man ought to "stop at the place where the Dao(Way) and Principle requires us to stop" and was in opposition to man's selfish intrigues which cover the Dao and Principle. In addition, ZHU Xi contends that hexagram Gen connotcs stillness and enhanced the" admonition of disadvantage due to not keeping still to the principle of keeping still in the heart/mind. Not only do these interpretations reflect his construction of his ontology of principle through interpreting the Change, but also embody his value orienation in his Veo-Confucian perspective,i.e.ultimate concernto the entire society and cosmic life.
