Orogen is a complicated tectonic collage,in which strata are severely disturbed,folded,thrusted,and dismembered into faulted slices instead of continuous stratigraphical sequence.It is very important for us to understand this feature when working in the orogen belt for regional stratigraphical surveying.A detailed discussion of living examples from the Changning Menglian belt will make this clear.
