图书馆拓展服务探析与案例研究

This paper samples approaches implemented at Cornell University Library and Tsinghua University Library, outlines methods employed, collaborators involved, as well as intended outcomes. The paper also points out the similarities and differences of their activities. Outreach can takes many forms and shapes. Some match the traditional library roles, and others require libraries to branch out, to be proactive, and to demonstrate their capabilities. The key for success is to link library outreach activities with its parent institution＇ s goals and directions, to customize it in order to keep it timely and alive. Ultimately, it has to lead to real improvement in library services for users, better yet, to have a long-term impact on the users＇ skills.
