“稻”字“盛水之禾”义质疑

Study of the rice named for"ChengShuiZhiHe"(盛水之禾)

稻是人类生活中的重要粮食作物,主要分为水稻和旱稻两类。关于＂稻＂的得名,黄金贵先生认为：＂稻从舀得义,舀从爪臼,臼亦声,上古音臼、舀皆幽部,字义为挹彼注兹,挹彼用手,故从爪;挹注之处,必可盛物者,故从臼。然则臼有承受义。韬,剑衣,盛剑革袋;滔,水漫漫大貌,即盛水甚多。‘稻’则谓盛水之禾＂.

Rice is an important food crop in our life.About Its naming reason,Huangjin-Gui Considers the'Rice'that the significance originates from 'ChengShuiZhiHe'(盛水之禾),This viewpoint is reasonable for Paddy rice,but it is not reasonable for Upland rice.This viewpoint needs to be discussed.Author studys it with biology knowledge、historical document、agronomy work、linguistics knowledge and archaeology knowledge.Unifing these knowledge,I congsiders the'rice'named from 'The mortar and pestle taking off the hull'.
