This is not only an inheritance and continuum of the complicated mentality of the traditional men of letters but also a reflection of the change in the cultural context of transitional modem society. Meanwhile, the author＇s complex attitude towards Utopia demonstrates that he is exploring human nature, man＇s mentality and human existence, spiritual state in the age as well as the efforts of the reconstruction of literary totality and the wholeness of human life.
