摘要
短篇小说的崛起出于报刊的需要,晚清的＂新小说＂也是短篇小说转型的发端。民国的短篇小说更是继承了晚清的这一发展。它们在主题、内容和形式上都为＂五四＂新文学做了铺垫。
The newspapers′ demand induced the rising of short stories in modern times.And the New Fiction in the Late Qing Dynasty also can be perceived as the outset of the transformation of short stories,which continued to develop during the period of the Republic of China.Their theme,content and form made a great impact on the new literature of the May 4th Movement.
