摘要
探讨了英语中一词多义现象形成的主要原因:外部原因和内部原因。语境对于消除多义词使用过程中产生的歧义起关键性的作用,在英语学习中应重视培养理解一词多义的能力,把它看成与语法能力和交际能力同等重要的一种能力。理解一词多义对英语词汇学习有重要的启发意义。
This paper discusses the main reasons about formational polysemy——phenomena in English： external reasons;internal ones.Context plays a crucial role for the elimination of polysemy ambiguities in the course of usage;Learners should focus on cultivating the ability to understand polysemy in English learning.It should be seen as important competence instructive for English vocabulary learning.
