On the Translation of the Images in the Chinese Poems of Tang Dynasty

意象是中国古代诗歌的灵魂。文章从文化阐释学、接受美学、文化交流三个维度探讨了如何翻译唐诗意象。首先,见解性地提出意象翻译的三原则,然后重点探讨在意象翻译原则指导下的唐诗意象翻译策略。运用翻译策略成功地传递诗歌意象能向世界更好地传播中国优秀的诗歌文化。

The image is the soul of Chinese ancient poetry. This paper discusses how to translate the images in Tang poems from such three dimensions as cultural hermcncutics, aesthetics of reception and cultural communication. Firstly, it puts forward three translation principles of images ; then stresses probing into the translation strate- gies of the images guided by the three translation principles. Successful application of these translation strategies to transfering poetry images can better disseminate splendid Chinese poetry culture.
