On Textual Research of Mao Zedong's Biography during "The Great Cultural Revolution" Period

"文革"时期,出于对领袖毛泽东的热爱和崇敬,一些群众组织和单位编写、翻印了许多有关毛泽东生平传记的内部资料,其版本之多,数量之大,的确难以作出准确统计。但是,在这众多的版本中,无非是翻印和重印斯诺的《毛泽东自传》、萧三的《毛泽东同志青少年时代》、马玉卿的《毛主席的革命实践活动》、"颂东写作组"的《大海航行靠舵手》等几个文本。这些文本的毛泽东生平传记,除斯诺文本、萧三文本外,其他的虽然有不少个人崇拜的东西,但从另一角度看,研究这个时期的毛泽东生平传记文本,对于我们今天完整、系统地研究毛泽东的生平和思想,仍有很大的参考价值。

During ＂The Great Cultural Revolution＂ period,out of love and admiration for Chairman Mao Zedong,some mass organizations and work units compiled and reprinted many internal materials of Mao Zedong＇s biography.Due to its many editions and large numbers,it was quite difficult to make a precise statistics.However,among such many editions,there were reprinted Mao Zedong＇s Autobiography by Edgar Snow,Comrade Mao Zedong and His Youth by Xiao San,Chairman Mao＇s Revolutionary Activities by Ma Yuqing,and Sailing the Seas Depends on the Helmsman by ＂Songdong Writing Group＂.Among these texts of Mao Zedong＇s biography,except both Snow＇s and Xiao San＇s work,other books did have things like individual worship.But,considering it from another angle,it is of much referential value to study Mao Zedong＇s biography of this period,which will help us to study Mao Zedong＇s life and thought completely and systematically.
