黑人女性小说是当代英国文学的一个重要组成部分。在漫长的发展过程中，黑人女性小说呈现出多姿多彩的态势，但对黑人女性移民生存状态的关注却始终是不少作家的创作主题。通过展现黑人女性在英国遭受的种族和性别等多重压迫，女作家力图表明黑人女性所面临的种种生存困难。“生存”的主题通过作家对传统成长小说的创造性改良而得到深化。

Black British women's fiction is an important part of contemporary British literature.In the history of its development,black British women's writing features diversity and difference,however,the concern for black migrant women's survival in the UK remains the essential theme.By depicting racial and gender prejudice that black migrant women have encountered,women writers demonstrate the hardships that black women have gone through in order to survive in the host country.The concern for black women's survival is highlighted by the writers' creative application of the traditional bildungsroman.
