本文介绍了近年来聚苯乙烯的生产能力、产量、需求量情况、生产技术的进展以及新品种的开发动向。指出,在本世纪90年代,PS的生产能力、产量及需求量都有较大的上升;在生产技术上目前正以生产多品种低成本产品的连续本体聚合法代替其他的生产方法,随之在反应设备、反应条件和控制等方面出现了许多新的创新和改进;几乎所有的聚苯乙烯生产厂都致力于新品种的开发,主要方向是抗冲击、耐热、高光泽、高透明度、阻燃、导电等,某些产品的性能已接近ABS和其他工程塑料。可以预见,聚苯乙烯的发展前景是十分宽阔的。

It was pointed out that the productive capacity and output, the demand for PS would in-crease in 1990's, and the economical continuos bulk method would replace other methods. theeafter there would be a lot ofnew ideas and improvements on the reaction equipments, reaction conditions and control. Nearly all the PS producer wouldtend to develop new grades of PS, especially HIPS, heat resistant PS. PS with high gloss and transparency, flame retardancyand conductivity. The properties of some PS products had approached the standard of that of ABS and other engineering plas-tics. It was predicted that the prospects for the development of PS would be vast.
