摘要
本刊自上一期刊登了北京大学教授翁剑青《佛教艺术在东渐中若干题材的图像学研究》之第一部分"花绳及卷草纹图像",本期刊发该文之第二部分"夜叉和力士(及天王)图像"。夜叉是作为佛陀的守护神角色出现的。并在其东渐中形成了自身演化的过程以及信众在不同时代和文化背景下对于它的认识。
In this period, Images of Yaksa and Hercules(and Heavenly King) is the second part of the Iconography Study of the Subjects of Buddhist Art during the Communication to the East by Prof. Wen Jianqing from Beijing University, following Images of Garlands and Scroll Design published in last period as the first part. As the guardian of the Buddhism, Yaksa formed its own evolution process in its communication to the east and was understood differently by the believers from different historical eras and cultural backgrounds.
