The relief of the Buddha at Lashao Temple dates back to the northern Zhou dynasty. The sculpturing art integrates carving, painting and molding. Having been expanded and mended, the sculptures display the rising and declining of Buddhist art in the northwestern region. The unique visual effects of the sculptures reflect the creative inspiration and wisdom of the ancient folk sculptors.
