Why We Import?

进口虽不能增加GDP,但却能使消费者获取更优质和更廉价的消费品。 2011年5月,中国将正式出台＂十二五＂规划,其起止时间是2011-2015年。由于此次出台规划的特殊国际国内背景,其瞩目度远超既往。 在国际环境方面,世界经济刚刚经历了全球金融危机的大洗礼,一系列重大变化已经发生：世界经济结构进入调整期、世界经济治理机制进入变革期、全球产业转型处于孕育期、新兴市场国家力量步入上升期。

China will launch its 12th five-year plan in May 2011.This plan has received more public attention than those launched before due to the special domestic and international background.The draft of the 12th five-year plan mentioned that China will attach importance to the export and the import equally.This is different from before,when the country preferred the export to the import.The import has its effective functions in economy.It can adjust supply and demand.China met its domestic demand in the beginning of its opening and reform.Currently,China still imports oil and iron ore to match its demand.Moreover,the import also helps to attain returns to scale.When two countries produce different goods and each one import the goods from the other,their firms can enjoy the returns to scale,and the consumers can buy these goods at lower prices.So the import cannot spur the GDP directly,but the people can benefit from it.The latter is the true aim of development.
