THE EFFECTS OF ULTRASONIC IRRADIATION ON PROCESSING AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF HDPE

摘要 研究了在挤出过程中超声辐照功率和时间对高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)加工流变性能及力学性能的影响。结果表明,超声辐照作用可以促进HDPE分子链段的运动,使HDPE熔体的挤出口模压力和表观粘度下降,明显提高了聚乙烯熔体的流动性,挤出物出口膨胀减小,外观质量明显提高。HDPE经超声辐照后,其拉伸模量及断裂伸长率均得到提高,为改善HDPE制品的性能提供了新途径。 The effects of ultrasonic irradiation power and irradiation time on processing and mechanical properties of HDPE during extrusion were studied. The experimental results show that the increase of ultrasonic irradiation power results in decreases of die pressure, die pressure fluctuation, apparent viscosity and extrudate swell of HDPE during extrusion. The appearance of HDPE extrudate gets greatly improved in the presence of ultrasonic waves, indicating that ultrasonic irradiation could greatly improve the processability of HDPE. The Young′s moludus and extension at break of HDPE were also improved after ultrasonic irradiation.
