Follow Suit or Try Another Way:China’s Approach to Catching up with Japan and the United States

本文通过比较20国集团的GDP、储蓄、投资、货币供应量、信贷、劳动力和劳动生产率等指标说明,凭借超过日本的增长方式,中国不能保证赶上美国并保持领先。只有通过进一步改革开放,提高资金利用效率,中国才可能稳健、扎实、持续地超日赶美。

This article argues that it would be more difficult for China’s GDP to catch up with the United States by simply repeating the approach to exceeding Japan in 2010.Based on a comparison of indicators in the context of G-20 countries,including GDP,savings,investment,money supply,credit,labor,and productivity,the article heightens the urgency and feasibility to improve efficiency by pushing forward reform and opening-up policy.Only in this way,can China exceed Japan and the United States in a solid and sustainable manner.
