A More Open Huawei

很多外部人士都会惊诧于华为最近的巨变：今年1月下旬，仿佛是约好了的，多名华为高管（胡厚宦、徐文伟、丁耘、陈黎芳、余承东等）集体入驻新浪微博。此后不久，华为执行管理团队（简称EMT，是华为的最高管理机构）轮值主席、高级副总裁徐直军不仅破天荒接受了记者的专访，还针对敏感的接班人问题作出了公开回应。

Many outsiders are amazed at the recent changes taking place at Huawei: In late January of this year, almost as if by plan, a number of Huawei executives collectively moved over to Sina Weibo. Shortly thereafter, member of Huawei's Executive Management Team and Senior Vice President Xu Zhijun, not only accepted an interview with reporters for the very first time, but also gave a statement on the very sensitive issue of Huawei's future leadership.These are changes that the Huawei of yesteryear would never have been willing to carry out, and even some of the internal staff at Huawei have still not yet adapted to these sudden changes. Even after William Xu, Huawei's executive vice president, confirmed that he had started his own micro-blog, employees at Huawei still had a hard time believing that the messages sent on the blog were actually his.
