逆城市的路——记者回乡手记

Returning Home

那7天的中国是逆城市的。春节的回家路大多是从一个更大的城市回到故乡的过程，这也是中国过去30年或60年经济发展顺序的箭头方向。中心城市的秩序和力量通过道路向乡村蔓延、放大。

Every year the same process occurs again and again during the Chinese New Year holidays; a mass exodus of people leaving the larger cities and returning to the countryside. In the past this process has also reflected the economic development of China over the past 60 to 30 years; that is the forward development and advantages of large cities slowly but surely moving into the rural communities of China.However during this past holiday season, our reports experienced something different while heading home: many of the busy travelers on the trains, highways and other transport are shifting their focus from the major cites to that of their old hometowns. No longer is the economic development in China moving in just one direction, but is now moving in many directions at once. Instead of returning to the cities after the holidays like in the past, many farmers are staying in the country-side. Meanwhile, many professionals in technical fields are also slowly turning their backs on big city life. This has also lead to a renaissance of sorts for traditional Chinese culture in rural areas.
