With the hot issues about energy saving and emission reduction existed in distribution transformer,some proposals for hot and cold standby of the transformer and how to safely turn cold standby status into hot one were presented in this article.The supporting for these proposals from relevant industrial standards was found.It is believed that what presented herein will be helpful in the turning performance between hot and cold standby or between cold standby and operation.
