Clarity is the foremost requirement in translating manuals of imported medical devices so that users can completely understand the instructions. This paper discusses by way of examples how to translate manuals of medical devices. It is contended that by using such skills as specification, amplification and structural adjustment, the original logic, grammatical and semantic relations could be effectively explicated in the translation, thus making the Chinese renditions clear for end users.
