胡文彬的红学研究大体可用"两点两论"来表述。所谓"两点",即两个基本关注点:一是《红楼梦》与红学传播交流史,二是《红楼梦》版本包括抄本与程高本研究;所谓"两论",即"红楼人物论"和"红楼文化论"。"两点两论"可谓胡文彬文学批评观点和学术思想的集中体现,也是胡文彬解悟《红楼梦》的着力点。

HU Wenbin＇s Redology research can be summarized as ＂two key points and two important theories＂.To the two key points,one is A Dream of Red Mansions and the history of Redology＇s transmission and exchange,the other is the novel＇s edition study.Two important theories mean ＂the theory of characteristic in A Dream of Red Mansions＂ and ＂the theory of culture in A Dream of Red Mansions＂.＂Two key points and two important theories＂ embodied HU Wenbin＇s literature criticism viewpoints and academic thought,as well as his understanding on the novel.
