英汉语篇省略对比研究——以《第二十二条军规》为例

A Contrastive Study of Ellipsis in English and Chinese Texts——Taking Catch-22 for Example

省略作为一种衔接手段,对于语篇的衔接与连贯起着重要作用。以韩礼德的衔接与连贯理论为框架,以省略为工具,以《第二十二条军规》的英文原版和其中译本作为数据来源,对英汉两种语言的省略衔接进行对比研究,通过定量定性的研究方法详细地讨论两种语言中省略手段的异同。这一研究有助于科学地理解黑色幽默语篇语言的支离破碎性,同时扩大衔接手段的应用范围,加强文学作品翻译的技巧。

Ellipsis as a cohesion device has a great effect for text＇s cohesion and coherence. And this paper takes the theory of Halliday＇s cohesion and coherence as framework, the ellipsis as the tool, the English and Chinese version of Catch-22 as the data source, the quantitative and qualitative method as the research method, trying to make a eontrastive analysis of the two languages＇ ellipsis. This paper contributes to the scientific understanding of the black humor language＇s characteristics and expands the scope of the u- sing of ellipsis, enhances the skill of translation.
