Analysis of Factors and Countermeasures Improving Competitiveness of English Graduates in Hennan Province

当前,随着全球化步伐加快,国际交流日渐频繁,客观上催生了英语专业过热的现象,致使英语专业招生人数增加,毕业生就业出现困难。另外,受美国次贷危机的影响,全球经济处于低迷状态,不少中外企业大量裁员或大幅度缩减招聘人数,使身处河南这个人口大省的英语本科毕业生,尤其是新升本院校的毕业生的就业面临更大的困难。因此,如何培养高素质的适应社会和市场需求的英语专业毕业生,就成为高校教育工作者要探讨的就业问题的焦点之一。

Nowadays, with the accelerating pace of globalization and increasingly frequent international exchanges, majoring in English has been believed to favour tile employment, resulting in increased enrollment of English majors and dlffictdties in graduate em- ployment. In addition, the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis caused the global economy to be in a recession, resulting in a large number of layoffs or reduction of the recruitment in many Chinese and foreign enterprises. This is more serious for English graduates in the populous province of Henan. Therefore, how to train high-quality English graduates adapting to social and market needs has become one of the work focuses of university educators.
