新中国成立以来,语文教科书从改编到编审合一、编审分离,从一纲一本到一纲多本、多纲多本,实施国家基本要求下教科书多样化方针。在不断强调工具性和人文性中,语文教科书体现由"知识本位"向以学生的发展为本的转变,注重学生的学习方式的转变,加强与现实生活联系等。语文教科书历经了新中国成立初期17年语文教科书的规整、"文化大革命"10年语文教科书的异化、改革开放30年语文教科书的繁荣三个不同的阶段。
