摘要
运用"名词短语可及性递进阶"、"感知难度假设"和"SO层级假设"理论,通过句子补全形式来探究大学一年级非英语专业学生英语关系从句的知识与其英语语言水平的相关关系,结果表明:(1)学习者关系从句知识的掌握与其语言水平相关,关系从句知识掌握得好的学生,其英语语言水平也高。(2)学习者主语关系从句、介词宾语关系从句和主语位置关系从句知识的变化对其语言水平有影响。(3)在宾语关系从句内,当从句主语为有生命语义特征的名词时,学习者宾语关系从句的掌握情况对其语言水平不显示影响力。(4)宾语位置关系从句、关系从句外置结构的掌握情况不对学习者的语言水平构成预测力。
To explore the correlation among freshmen non-English major students' knowledge of English relative clause and English language proficiency, we have applied three theories which are " Noun Phrase Accessibility Hierarchy Perceptual Difficulty Hypothesis" and " SO Hierarchy Hypothesis" through complete sentence forms. The data show that : ( 1 ) Learners'knowledge of relative clauses are relevant to their language proficiency; Students who have a better knowledge of relative clauses are also endowed with a high English Language Proficiency. ( 2 ) Learners knowledge of SU, OPREP, and relative clauses in subject matrix position exerts impacts on students'language proficiency. (3) The effect of the object relative clause on students language ability is not found when the subject noun phrase in the internal sentence acquires animacy. (4) Learners knowledge of relative clauses in object matrix position and extra-position relative structures register no predictive influence to their language proficiency.
