刘锦棠是近代中国开发建设新疆的第一人。他从兴修农田水利用以恢复和发展新疆农牧业生产、广置交通设施用以促进和保护新疆商贸业的发展、注重兴学育人用以引导和促发新疆各民族大融合等三个方面,对开发建设新疆作出了重大贡献。

Liu Jintang was the first man for development and construction of modern China＇s Xinjiang.He conducted irrigation rehabilitation and development for agriculture and animal husbandry in Xinjiang,He establed transport facilities for the promotion and protection of the Xinjiang-commerce industry.He focused up schools for educating people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang and he guided and triggered the three aspects of Merger on the development and construction.He made a significant contribution toXinjiang progress.
